Midtown Women’s Center is seeking a dedicated and skilled Bone Density Technologist to join our growing team at our new location in Coral Gables.

Job Summary

Required Background:

• Requires a minimum of an Associates Degree in Radiology Technology.
• Certified through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
• Bone Density Certification

Responsibilities:

• Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to ensure safety of patient and team, utilizing ALARA principles.
• Perform related administrative duties such as completing forms, labeling areas and maintaining logs. Including completing patients information in software systems.
• Adhere to policies and procedures, infection control guidelines and demonstrate competence of the 10-day rule (pregnancy clearance).
• Ability to work independently and accurately complete images in a timely manner.
• Work closely with radiologist to assure quality and limit repeat procedures.
• Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein
• Verify patients’ identity and confirm order based on physician’s prescription
• Take radiographic images in all required angels and positions based on standard practice for the bone density procedure.
• Ability to explain and assist patient in positioning for images accordingly, including lifting and moving patients with limited mobility.
• Position radiologic equipment and adjust controls to set exposure time and distance according to specifications of examination and established protocols .
• Comply with clinical accreditation requirements and submission deadlines.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
