Role Overview We are hiring a remote, Philippines-based bookkeeper to own monthly bookkeeping for our U.S. client accounts in QuickBooks Online. You will work independently within our established processes, escalating only the items that genuinely need senior review.

This role suits someone who values accuracy over speed, finishes what they start, and reports their time honestly. Success means clean, complete, review-ready books each month with minimal correction from senior staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Process routine transactions accurately and on schedule, including categorization, transfers between accounts, and credit-card payments.
• Complete monthly bank and credit-card reconciliations in full, with discrepancies investigated and resolved rather than carried forward.
• Clean up accounts payable and accounts receivable, including aged items, duplicates, and unapplied payments.
• Clean up and maintain vendor and payee lists so records are consistent and free of duplicates.
• Work through review notes from senior staff completely and promptly, applying the feedback to future work so the same issues do not recur.
• Use AI and other research tools appropriately for routine questions, such as identifying unfamiliar vendors, interpreting transaction descriptions, or assessing whether an item may need to be expensed or capitalized, before escalating to senior review.
• Log time accurately and in line with the work actually completed.
• Escalate genuinely unclear or judgment-heavy items with a clear summary of what you found and what you recommend.

Qualifications & Skills

• Proven experience doing bookkeeping for U.S. businesses or U.S. accounting firms.
• Excellent, hands-on QuickBooks Online skills across transaction processing, reconciliations, AP/AR, and vendor management.
• Strong bookkeeping fundamentals: double-entry accounting, the chart of accounts, accruals, and the difference between expensing and capitalizing.
• A track record of handling monthly close tasks independently, with little rework needed after review.
• Comfortable using AI tools and online research responsibly, knowing when to rely on them and when to escalate.
• Clear written English for review-note responses and escalations.
• Preferred: QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor certification and experience supporting multiple client accounts at once.
