Bookkeeper/ Accounting Specialist

We are seeking an Accounting Assistant / Bookkeeper for a temp-to-hire opportunity with a well-established HOA community in Sarasota. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong accounting foundation who enjoys variety, working independently, and interacting with people throughout the day.

Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable

• Perform account and bank reconciliations

• Assist with general ledger activity

• Maintain accounting records in QuickBooks Online

• Process ACH payments and transfers

• Handle light payroll through ADP

• Assist with annual maintenance fee updates and related accounting

• Answer incoming phone calls and assist with general office needs

• Greet and assist residents, vendors, and prospective buyers/renters

• Maintain and help improve office procedures and documentation

• Provide additional bookkeeping and administrative support as needed

• Experience with QuickBooks Online preferred

• Previous experience with AP, AR, reconciliations, bookkeeping, or general accounting support

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Friendly, professional, and comfortable interacting with the public

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities

• Comfortable working in a small office environment

• Open to Accounting Assistant-level candidates who have a solid accounting foundation and are eager to grow into additional bookkeeping responsibilities
