About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented, enthusiastic, and self-motivated Bookkeeper to join our close-knit Canadian manufacturing company of approximately 25 employees.

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will play a key role in supporting the company’s day-to-day financial operations. The CEO is a CPA and will provide hands-on training and support. You will also have access to established SOPs and Basecamp project management software to support a smooth onboarding process and ongoing success.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently, takes ownership of their work, and is interested in developing their accounting and bookkeeping expertise within a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

Initial Responsibilities:

• Manage Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP)
• Perform bank and selected balance sheet reconciliations
• Assist with month-end closing activities
• Handle routine bookkeeping and accounting tasks
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records

As the Role Develops:

• Support financial reporting and analysis
• Assist with payroll support and administration
• Prepare online banking transactions and payment requirements
• Handle government remittances and tax reporting
• Identify opportunities for process improvement through technology and automation

Qualifications & Requirements

• Strong bookkeeping experience, particularly in AR, AP, reconciliations, and month-end close
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience using QuickBooks Online, Sage 50 Cloud Accounting, or similar accounting software
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
• Proactive and solution-oriented approach to work
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Willingness to learn and continuously improve processes
