Hays Accountancy & Finance is partnering with a well-established professional services organisation based in Adelaide's CBD to recruit an experienced Senior Bookkeeper for an initial 3-month contract opportunity. This role has the potential to transition into a permanent position for the right individual.

Your new role

Reporting to senior leadership, you will take ownership of the day-to-day finance function while supporting the broader business with accurate financial reporting and operational accounting activities.
Key responsibilities include:

• End-to-end bookkeeping across multiple entities
• Accounts payable and accounts receivable management
• Bank and balance sheet reconciliations
• Payroll processing and award interpretation
• BAS, IAS and payroll tax preparation
• General ledger maintenance and month-end activities
• Cash flow monitoring and reporting
• Assisting with budgeting and financial reporting
• Liaising with external accountants and stakeholders

What you'll need to succeed

• Demonstrated experience in a senior bookkeeping position
• Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards and compliance requirements
• Experience using cloud-based accounting systems such as Xero, MYOB or similar
• Excellent reconciliation and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
• Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
