Bookkeeper

About the role

We are seeking a capable and organised Bookkeeper to support our accounting team and diverse client base. The role will involve day to day bookkeeping, payroll, reconciliations and client support, with a strong focus on accuracy and general client support. A strong desire to problem solve is advantageous. In this role, you will play a vital role in supporting the financial success of our diverse client base in the rural communities we operate. You will be under the direct supervision of the accounting partner based in Roma.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate client bookkeeping records.
• Process accounts payable and receivable.
• Complete bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Process payroll and superannuation.
• Assist with BAS and GST requirements.
• Prepare reports and supporting schedules.
• Liaise with clients regarding bookkeeping matters.
• Maintain a high level of organisation and accuracy.

About you

• Previous bookkeeping experience is essential.
• Accounting qualifications desirable but not essential.
• Access Handisoft experience would be advantageous.
• Experience with Xero and MYOB and other widely used accounting systems.
• Experience with the ATO portal.
• Strong knowledge of payroll, GST and BAS.
• ASIC lodgements and company setups.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
