About the role

The Taranaki Chamber of Commerce is a well-established and respected organisation that has been at the forefront of promoting, supporting and enabling business in Taranaki since 1936. We deliver a broad range of services to our members, including events, training, advocacy, employment services and coordination of the Young Enterprise Scheme, Network of Trades and the Business and Retail Association.

The preferred working hours are Tuesday and Thursday between 9.00am and 2.30pm. However, there is flexibility within the role on the days/timings of work and the option for some work from home.

Key responsibilities

• Maintaining the Xero accounting system
• Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Processing invoices and supplier payments
• Following up outstanding payments
• Reconciling bank accounts and credit card transactions
• Managing direct debits and payment plans
• Maintaining financial records for audit purposes
• Preparing monthly reports for CEO and Board
• Monitoring cash flow
• Preparation of budgets
