Contract Bookkeeper duties and responsibilities

We are seeking a proactive, organized, and detail-oriented Bookkeeper for a contract or short-term engagement to oversee bookkeeping for our construction and property management division and help strengthen and streamline our accounting processes.

Responsibilities include:

• Managing the monthly accounting cycle and reconciliations (RECs)
• Handling accounts receivable (AR), accounts payable (AP), and deposits
• Preparing journal entries and maintaining accurate financial records
• Utilizing QuickBooks to manage and oversee construction division bookkeeping
• Identifying opportunities to improve accounting processes and procedures

Ideal Candidate:

• Experienced with full-cycle bookkeeping and QuickBooks
• Proactive, organized, and detail-oriented
• Comfortable working independently and taking initiative
• A strong communicator who works well with our team

This is initially a contract or short-term opportunity with the potential for an ongoing role. Our goal is to build reliable processes, ensure a smooth transition, and find the right long-term fit for our team.

Pay: $25.00-$28.00 per hour

Education:

• AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)

Experience:

• QuickBooks: 1 year (preferred)
• Bookkeeping: 1 year (preferred)

Work Location: In person
