Bookkeeper

Job Brief

An opportunity has arisen for a Bookkeeper to take ownership of the day to day running of the accounts function.

Based in our workshop in Kendal, you will oversee accounting procedures and prepare ledgers and reports to aid senior management in making key business decisions.

You must have a good mathematical mind, experience in a similar role. You must be a good decision maker who can work well as part of a team.

Responsibilities

· Gather the necessary information needed to prepare customer invoices

· Prepare and send invoices and statements

· Daily banking including sending and receiving payments

· Extensive use of Sage 50 Accounts

· Credit control

· Quarterly VAT returns - prepare for review

· Prepare budgets and cash flow statements for review

· Advise on accounting issues and implement improvements

· Managing stock levels alongside the stores team

Requirements and skills

· Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, ideally in a similar role

· Solid knowledge of basic and advanced accounting and financial principles and practices

· Good knowledge of Sage 50 and MS Office

· Excellent communication and presentation skills

· A problem-solver with attention to detail

· Organizational and leadership skills

· Relevant qualification in Bookkeeping or Accountancy or QBE

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: £31,200.00-£36,400.00 per year

Expected hours: 35.0 per week
