Bookkeeper

An established property company with a portfolio of commercial and residential properties is seeking an organised, numerate and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join its team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounts professional looking for a permanent role offering genuine responsibility, direct mentoring and opportunities for professional development within the property sector.

This is a fully office based role located in North West London, offering generous holidays and on-site parking.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process and reconcile bank receipts and payments, including tenant rental income, using MRI Qube.
• Maintain purchase and sales ledgers, including coding and processing supplier invoices.
• Prepare and issue rent demands and tenant invoices, including quarterly rent and service charge demands.
• Carry out regular bank, supplier, tenant and general ledger reconciliations.
• Assist with client account reconciliations.
• Monitor tenant accounts and follow up on outstanding rent and arrears.
• Assist with service charge budgets, apportionments and year-end reconciliations.
• Prepare VAT workings and support the Senior Bookkeeper with VAT returns and other HMRC submissions through MRI Qube.
• Prepare month-end schedules and financial information for review.
• Respond to account-related queries from tenants, suppliers, managing agents and other stakeholders.

Essential Skills and Experience:

• A minimum of four years' experience in bookkeeping or an accounts assistant role.
• A sound understanding of double-entry bookkeeping, reconciliations and month-end procedures.
• Working knowledge of VAT and its treatment within business accounts.
• Experience using accounting software, ideally MRI Qube or a comparable property accounting system such as Yardi or RealPage.
• Confident Excel skills, including lookups, filters and basic pivot tables.
• AAT Level 3 or above, or a relevant accounting qualification.
