Bookkeeper

Summary

We're looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to keep our day-to-day accounting accurate and current. You'll process payables and receivables, reconcile bank statements, and turn sales orders and purchase orders into invoices and payables. You'll work closely with the finance team and other departments to keep records clean and on time.

Schedule & Location

• Hourly, non-exempt position, Monday through Thursday
• Onsite 3–4 days per week, with the possibility of 1 remote day
• Flexible start and end times within a standard workday

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Accounts Payable

• Enter vendor bills and code them to the correct accounts
• Close purchase orders and generate payables from them
• Match bills to purchase orders and receiving documents, and resolve discrepancies
• Prepare payments for approval and respond to vendor inquiries

Accounts Receivable

• Close sales orders and generate customer invoices
• Apply customer payments and follow up on past-due balances
• Respond to customer billing questions

Reconciliation & Records

• Reconcile bank and credit card statements, and investigate and clear differences
• Post journal entries as directed
• Support month-end close by keeping transactions current and accurate
• Keep files and supporting documentation organized and audit-ready

General

• Work with finance, operations and sales teams to resolve transaction issues
• Help improve accounting processes and document procedures
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required

• Working knowledge of accounting principles, including debits and credits, accruals and the general ledger
• Hands-on bookkeeping experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable and bank reconciliation
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy with numbers
• Well organized, able to manage deadlines and priorities
• Clear written and verbal communication

Preferred

• Experience with an ERP system, including sales order and purchase order processing
• Experience in a manufacturing, wholesale or distribution environment
• Associate degree or coursework in accounting or a related field, or equivalent experience

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

With or without reasonable accommodation, the employee must be able to sit for extended periods, use a computer and keyboard, and occasionally move about a manufacturing and office environment. The role is performed in an office setting within a manufacturing facility, which may include noise, dust and varying temperatures.
