Job Description

• Day-to day management of deck ratings.
• Obtain watchkeeping, work schedule and other relevant orders related to deck ratings.
• Carry out deck and accommodation maintenance tasks and work with other seafarers as per instructions received.
• Inspect and maintain mooring fittings & equipment, cargo handling gears, lifesaving & fire-fighting equipment, etc. and inform C/O if any defect/deficiency observed.
• Assist with cargo operations (loading/discharging/tank cleaning, etc.) and maintenance of cargo equipment, as instructed by Chief Officer.
• Arrange lines and valves for preparation of cargo and tank cleaning operations.
• Assign specific tasks to deck ratings and work with them as required.
• Advise deck ratings on any special precautions required for the task.
• Oversea progress of work and ensure that it is carried out in safe and efficient manner.
• Assist in mooring/unmooring/anchoring operations.
• Take care of deck ratings morale and welfare, along with the COFF.
• Operate cranes, winches and other cargo related equipment.
• Supervise housekeeping on deck, accommodation, deck change lockers and stores to ensure these are maintained.
• Check, receive, take custody, and record deck and tank cleaning stores.
• Receive orders from OOW on navigation watch when applicable.
• Educate and provide training to deck ratings for improvement of their performance in cargo operations, deck, accommodation and cargo equipment maintenance.
• Others as instructed by Chief Officer.

Skills and Qualifications:

URGENT!!!

Note: Tentative Joining Schedule: SEP/OCT/NOV 2026

with at least 18 months experience on Chemical/Oil Tanker vessels

Must hold valid STCW Certificates/COP in BT+PSSR, SCRB, AFF, BTOCT, SDSD

Optional Trainings: ATOT, ATCT

must have US Visa
