Key Responsibilities

1. Crew Supervision & Task Delegation

2. Deck Maintenance & Upkeep

3. Deck Machinery & Station Operations

Ensure all deck machinery is lubricated, operational, and prepared prior to entering ports or confined waters.

Lead anchor handling on the forecastle during arrival, departure, or anchoring operations.

Operate and supervise the operation of windlasses, winches, and deck cranes during anchoring and mooring procedures.

Manage deck inventory, tools, paints, and workshop stores, reporting stock needs to the Chief Officer.

Maintain rigging, wire ropes, fiber lines, blocks, and tackles.

Oversee and perform general deck maintenance: rust removal (chipping/grinding), priming, painting, and cleaning.

Monitor work progress to ensure tasks are completed efficiently, on time, and to standard.

Lead, train, and mentor junior deck crew on seamanship, equipment usage, and safe working habits.

Assign daily work schedules to the deck crew based on instructions from the Chief Officer.

Skills and Qualifications:

8 MONTHS OF EXPERIENCE AS BOSUN ON CONTIANER VESSEL.

COMBINED EXPERIENCE AS BOSUN AND AB TO BE MINIMUM OF 36 MONTHS.
