Boutique Operations Associate

Pretty Proper Hair is seeking a reliable, personable, and organized Boutique Operations Associate to manage the day-to-day operations of our Brooklyn boutique.

Our boutique operates primarily through online ordering, scheduled pickups, shipping, and same-day courier delivery. This position is ideal for someone who is comfortable working independently, taking initiative, and providing an excellent customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of the Brooklyn boutique during scheduled shifts
• Prepare and organize customer pickup orders
• Pack and prepare online orders for shipping
• Coordinate same-day courier orders through Uber and Lyft, including preparing orders, confirming driver information, and ensuring accurate handoff
• Follow order handoff procedures, including taking photo/video confirmation when required
• Greet and assist customers picking up orders
• Provide knowledgeable hair recommendations based on desired look, texture, length, and customer needs
• Learn Pretty Proper Hair products, textures, lengths, and basic hair-care recommendations
• Provide friendly and professional customer service
• Maintain a clean, organized, stocked, and visually appealing showroom
• Monitor inventory and communicate low-stock or restocking needs to management
• Assist with creating social media content, including product videos, Reels, Stories, new arrivals, order-packing content, and showroom content
• Maintain Pretty Proper Hair’s brand presentation in the boutique and on social media
• Complete opening and closing responsibilities
• Escalate customer concerns, order issues, or unusual situations to management when necessary

• Willing to learn our hair extensions, textures, products, and recommendations

Previous beauty, retail, or hair-extension experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person.

About the Role

This is a hands-on position in a small boutique environment. Because Pretty Proper Hair primarily operates through online orders and scheduled pickups, some periods may have limited customer traffic. During slower periods, the Boutique Operations Associate will focus on preparing orders, maintaining inventory and the showroom, creating content, and completing other daily operational tasks.

We’re looking for someone who can hold down the boutique, take ownership of their responsibilities, and represent Pretty Proper Hair professionally even when management isn’t physically present

Pay: $21.00 - $26.00 per hour
