Box Truck Driver

Responsibilities

• Safely operate box trucks, on local and over-the-road (OTR) routes in compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards
• Load and unload freight efficiently using manual handling techniques and ensure cargo is secured properly for transit
• Navigate delivery routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize efficiency and meet delivery schedules
• Transport hazardous materials or dangerous goods following hazardous materials regulations and safety protocols when required
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks, trailers, and cargo to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with DOT regulations
• Maintain accurate delivery logs, shipment documentation, and incident reports as per company policies
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly

Requirements

• Proven experience in commercial truck driving, delivery driving, or freight transportation with a focus on route driving
• Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, hazardous materials regulations, DOT regulations, and safety standards for truck driving
• Experience handling logistics cargo including load & unload procedures for freight, hazardous goods, or dangerous materials
• Familiarity with GPS navigation systems for route planning and execution
• Strong understanding of truck loading/unloading procedures and logistics cargo handling processes

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 50.0 per week
