Box Truck Driver

Job Overview

As a Box Truck Driver, you’ll keep freight moving safely and reliably from pickup through delivery. You’ll plan route driving with GPS navigation, operate a box truck, and handle cargo with care. Work may include local delivery driving or over-the-road (OTR) routes, depending on the assignment. Your impact: Careful driving and accurate deliveries help customers receive their freight safely and on schedule.

Duties

• Drive commercial trucks and box trucks on assigned routes; operate a manual transmission when required.
• Load and unload freight, using safe manual handling practices and securing cargo for transport.
• Verify shipments and handle logistics cargo, including automobile transportation when assigned.
• Follow Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations, as well as hazardous materials regulations when applicable.
• Complete vehicle and delivery records, and report route, cargo, or vehicle concerns promptly.

Experience

• Required: Safe driving practices and the ability to load, unload, and secure freight. Delivery driver experience and commercial driving or truck driving experience are useful.
• Preferred: Commercial truck driving, tractor-trailer, refrigerated trailer, flatbed, or tanker experience; familiarity with Hazmat (hazardous materials), dangerous goods, and applicable handling requirements.
• Familiarity with GPS navigation, route planning, OTR driving routes, and automobile transportation is an asset.
• Must be able to perform the physical tasks of manual handling and cargo loading and unloading. Follow all applicable safety procedures and regulations.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
