JJob Title: Box Truck Driver and Receiver

Reports To: Floor/Back Manager

Job Type: Full time - 40 hours per week, Tuesday – Saturday (9:00 – 5:30 with 30-minute unpaid lunch)

FLSA Status: Exempt

Pay: $16.50 per hour

Summary: The Box Truck Driver and Receiver plays a crucial role in providing a positive donation experience for donors while supporting the operations of Guardian Angel Thrift. This position is responsible for driving the Guardian Angel Thrift box trucks to pick up donations and deliver to the stores. This position will ensure inventory is processed, organized, and prepares items for sale. The ideal candidate is comfortable working on their feet, focused on being a team player, and experienced in lifting heavy items. A candidate with experience and a valid driver's license is required.

Receiving is a 5-day operation department. You are expected to work Saturdays. Any specific days off must be approved by the store manager and a 2-week notice is requested for paid time off.

Responsibilities and Duties

Ability to safely drive and maneuver a box truck

Demonstrate problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure

Move inventory and materials across facilities

Sort, organize and store inventory in the proper location

Package items and label correctly

Report damaged or missing inventory to supervisors

Stack and organize large bulk items

Remove inventory from trucks or storage to proper location

Update logs and documentation for inventory processing

Move materials from facilities to workstations, pick-up locations, or other locations

Ensure workspace is free of debris and remove safety hazards from aisles

Work as an active team member to complete team goals

Prepare documentation and inventory for audits

Have great customer service skills

A great work ethic

Be prepared to work outside year round

Be able to pass both drug testing and background check.

Prepare stores for opening and closing each day to include sweeping, mopping, and cleaning

Maintain cleanliness of the trucks and receiving area

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills

Requirements:

Ability and experience driving a box truck

High school degree or equivalent

Valid NC driver's license with no moving violations in the past year

Able to pass drug test/background check

Physically able to stand, sit, move, squat, walk, and climb during the course of the shift

Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds or more

Work well and communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds

Able to work in a fast-paced environment

Able to work independently

Pays attention to detail and monitors the quality of inventory

Highly organized and able to store items efficiently

Must follow all health and safety procedures and regulations as dictated by the organization and the state

Pay: $23.37 - $28.14 per hour

Expected hours: 39.5 per week
