Brake Press Operator

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Brake Press Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating brake presses to shape and form sheet metal components with precision and efficiency. Your expertise in fabrication, tooling, and mechanical processes will ensure high-quality production standards are met consistently. Duties

• Set up and operate brake presses according to specifications, ensuring accurate bends and shapes in sheet metal components
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine proper tooling and machine settings
• Adjust machine parameters as needed to achieve precise measurements, maintaining quality control throughout production
• Use hand tools and measuring devices such as calipers and gauges to verify dimensions and tolerances
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment, including grinding and cleaning tooling for optimal performance
• Assist with fabrication tasks like welding, grinding, or assembly when required to support overall production goals
• Maintain a clean, organized work area while adhering to safety protocols at all times

Experience

• Prior experience operating brake presses or similar sheet metal fabrication machinery is highly preferred
• Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in fabrication techniques such as welding, grinding, and assembly
• Proficiency with hand tools, tooling setups, and basic math skills for precise measurements and calculations
• Knowledge of sheet metal properties and handling techniques for various types of materials
• Experience working with technical drawings, blueprints, or work orders to accurately produce parts
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues quickly and effectively to minimize downtime

Pay: £12.71-£14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 – 44.0 per week
