At Cookes, we're proud of our people, our customers, and our reputation for quality. With 11 branches across New Zealand and over 115 years serving Kiwi industries, we're looking for an experienced leader to take our Nelson branch to the next level.

This is a leadership role for someone who enjoys developing people, building strong relationships, and isn't afraid to jump in and help wherever needed.

About the Role:

As Branch Manager, you'll lead an established and experienced team across sales, customer service, warehousing, and operations. Your job is to create a positive, high-performing culture where people feel supported, accountable, and motivated to succeed.

You'll spend your time coaching your team, strengthening customer relationships, improving branch performance, and helping wherever required. Whether that's supporting a customer, assisting the warehouse team during a busy period, or working alongside staff to solve a problem, you're someone who leads from the front.

• Builds trust and strong working relationships

• Leads by example and isn't afraid to get stuck in when needed

• Brings a practical, hands-on approach to problem solving

• Understands the importance of safety, customer service, and teamwork

• Has commercial awareness and can help drive branch performance

• Enjoys creating a positive, accountable, and high-performing culture

• Industry experience is helpful but not essential. We can teach the products and industry. What matters most is your ability to lead people, support your team, and deliver results.
