RH Scales has been a trusted distributor of automotive, heavy-duty truck, trailer, RV, snow & ice, and related parts since 1933. We operate six locations across New England and New York, and we're looking for someone dependable, customer-focused, and versatile to join our White River Junction team.

THE ROLE

You'll play an important part in keeping our White River Junction branch running smoothly.

One part of your day might involve helping customers find the right parts, answering phones, or processing orders. Another might involve picking inventory, receiving shipments, loading trucks, or making local deliveries.

This is a true hybrid position. You should be comfortable working with customers and equally willing to roll up your sleeves and help in the warehouse or wherever needed.

You'll work closely with our Branch Manager, learn our products and systems, and gradually take on more responsibility as you develop your skills.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Inside Sales & Customer Service

• Answer phones and assist customers with parts identification, availability, pricing, and orders.
• Help walk-in customers at the sales counter.
• Enter and process orders using our ERP and inventory systems.
• Learn our automotive, heavy-duty truck, trailer, RV, and snow & ice product lines.
• Build relationships with customers and help them find the right solutions.
• Follow up on customer orders, product availability, and special requests.

Warehouse, Inventory & Deliveries

• Pick, pack, receive, and organize inventory.
• Load and unload trucks and delivery vehicles.
• Make customer deliveries as needed.
• Coordinate incoming shipments, outgoing orders, and transfers between branches.
• Assist with inventory counts and stock management.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse.

Branch Operations

• Support the Branch Manager with daily branch activities.
• Help coordinate customer orders, warehouse work, and delivery schedules.
• Provide counter and operational coverage during lunches, vacations, and other absences as you become trained.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures as responsibilities grow.
• Identify opportunities to improve customer service, efficiency, and daily workflow.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Dependable. We're a small team, and we count on people to show up, follow through, and pitch in.
• Good with people. You'll interact with customers regularly, both in person and over the phone.
• Hands-on. You're comfortable working in a warehouse, handling inventory, loading trucks, and making deliveries.
• Willing to learn. You'll learn our products, systems, customers, and how the business operates.
• Organized. You pay attention to details and take pride in getting orders right.
• Self-motivated. You can take initiative, solve problems, and work independently when needed.
• Licensed to drive. An active, valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record are required.

Experience in automotive, heavy-duty truck, fleet, trailer, parts, or distribution is a major plus.

Inside sales, counter sales, warehouse, delivery, or related experience is preferred, but we're willing to train the right person.

A college degree is not required.

THE DETAILS

Location: White River Junction, Vermont

Schedule: Full-time | Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM–5:00 PM | No regular weekends

Compensation: $18–$24/hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

As you develop your skills and demonstrate initiative, you'll have opportunities to take on additional responsibilities, provide greater operational support to the Branch Manager, and potentially grow into an Assistant Branch Manager.
