Mersey Raw is an ambitious, fast-growing pet brand making the best raw dog food in the UK. It all started with one dog: our founder’s dog Pluto, who still eats his breakfast straight off the production line every morning.

From our 29,000 sq ft facility on Merseyside, we’re stocked in over 90 UK pet stores, sell direct through www.merseyraw.com and our factory shop, and are finalists for both Pet Food Brand of the Year and Raw Pet Food Brand of the Year at the UK Pet Industry Awards 2026.

Our brand and our business are all about people. We’re a small, dedicated team who believe every dog was born to eat a balanced, 100% natural diet.

Due to a planned period of growth, we’re looking for a Brand Designer to join our in-house marketing team. This isn’t a role for keeping things ticking over. We want someone who’ll challenge our thinking, bring ideas we haven’t thought of yet, and push the brand forward as we grow.

Your role in the business

Reporting to the Head of Marketing, you’ll:

• Drive the creative direction of our brand, bringing fresh ideas that keep us ahead in a fast-moving market
• Build and own our brand guidelines so everything stays consistent as we grow
• Design packaging and labels across our 20 recipes, plus seasonal and limited editions
• Create paid and organic social assets, including motion graphics and short-form video edits
• Design CRM assets, including email campaigns, automated flows and templates in Klaviyo
• Design for our website, working alongside our web developer
• Support our trade partners with everything they need to sell Mersey Raw: POS, signage, shelf displays, sell-in packs, stockist social assets and event stands
• Art-direct product and brand photography
• Keep a close eye on what’s happening across design, pet and DTC brands, and bring new ideas to the table without waiting for a brief

What are we looking for?

• A portfolio with real range: brand identity, packaging, print, digital and social
• Experience across brand identity work, such as building new brands, rebrands or brand refreshes, ideally seen through to real-world rollout
• 3+ years in a design role
• The confidence to pitch bold ideas, and the craft to make them work on a shelf, in a feed and on a pack
• Strong Adobe Creative Suite skills (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign); experience with Klaviyo, After Effects or Figma is a bonus
• Print know-how: artwork prep, dielines and working with printers
• A good grasp of AI tools, using them to be more creative and efficient without losing the craft
• A meticulous eye for detail, with excellent organisation and communication skills
• A team player who’s just as happy owning a project solo as working within a close-knit team
• A love of dogs is a big plus
