BREAKERS YARD WORKER REQUIRED

Responsibilities

• Load and unload materials using appropriate equipment such as forklifts and manual handling techniques
• Operate warehouse management systems to track inventory, shipments, and yard activities accurately
• Conduct routine maintenance and basic repairs on yard equipment to ensure safety and functionality
• Handle materials safely, including heavy lifting, stacking, and organizing items within the yard
• Assist with shipping and receiving processes, ensuring timely movement of goods in accordance with schedules
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by adhering to health and safety protocols
• Support yard operations by performing mechanical checks and troubleshooting equipment issues as needed

Requirements

• Proven experience working in a warehouse or yard environment with familiarity in warehouse management systems
• Mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic repairs on equipment
• Experience operating forklifts (certification preferred) or willingness to obtain certification upon hire
• Strong materials handling skills, including heavy lifting and proper manual techniques
• Good understanding of shipping & receiving procedures and documentation processes
• Basic math skills for inventory counts, measurements, and calculations
• Ability to work efficiently in a physically demanding environment involving heavy lifting and prolonged standing
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to warehouse operations
