We are a locally owned breakfast and lunch restaurant seeking a skilled, experienced, and dependable full-time diner cook to join our kitchen team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in traditional American diner-style cooking, with the ability to prepare a wide variety of breakfast and lunch dishes in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, maintains consistent food quality, and can efficiently manage multiple orders during busy service hours.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare and cook traditional American breakfast and lunch dishes, including eggs, omelets, pancakes, French toast, burgers, sandwiches, and other classic diner favorites.
• Demonstrate proficiency in short-order cooking, flat-top grilling, griddle operations, and commercial kitchen equipment.
• Handle multiple food orders simultaneously while maintaining speed, accuracy, and consistent food quality.
• Follow established recipes, portion sizes, and food preparation standards.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper sanitation throughout the kitchen.
• Follow food safety procedures and proper food handling practices.
• Communicate and coordinate effectively with kitchen staff during busy breakfast and lunch service.
• Assist with food preparation, opening, closing, and other daily kitchen responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

• Previous professional cooking experience in a traditional American diner or similar high-volume breakfast and lunch restaurant is required.
• Strong knowledge of breakfast and lunch preparation, particularly short-order cooking and flat-top grilling.
• Ability to prepare multiple orders efficiently while maintaining excellent food quality and presentation.
• Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Must have reliable personal transportation to and from work.
• Must be dependable, punctual, responsible, and committed to consistent attendance.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work efficiently under pressure.
• Knowledge of proper food handling, sanitation, and commercial kitchen safety.
• Professional attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to work well with others.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

This position is intended for experienced cooks with an established background in professional diner-style cooking. This is not an entry-level position. Candidates should be confident in their ability to handle a busy breakfast and lunch kitchen with minimal supervision.

WORK SCHEDULE:

This is a full-time breakfast and lunch diner cook position.

Restaurant operating hours are 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM, seven days a week.
