The Food Shoppe is seeking a dependable and skilled Breakfast Cook to support its kitchen team in preparing fresh breakfast dishes and maintaining consistent food quality. The ideal candidate enjoys cooking, works efficiently during busy morning service, and takes pride in preparing meals according to recipes and presentation standards. This position is well suited to someone who can handle breakfast orders while keeping the kitchen clean, organized, and ready for service.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook breakfast items, including omelets, eggs, breakfast bowls, and other menu dishes.
• Prepare ingredients such as vegetables, meats, potatoes, and other breakfast components.
• Follow recipes, portion guidelines, and food presentation standards.
• Operate grills, stovetops, fryers, and other kitchen equipment safely.
• Coordinate with kitchen team members to complete orders accurately and on time.
• Monitor cooking temperatures and ensure food is prepared properly.
• Maintain ingredient freshness and follow food storage and rotation procedures.
• Keep cooking stations, utensils, and equipment clean and organized.
• Monitor ingredient levels and report shortages to the kitchen supervisor.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and allergen-handling procedures.

Qualifications

• Previous breakfast cooking or restaurant kitchen experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of egg preparation, griddle cooking, and basic breakfast techniques.
• Ability to follow recipes and maintain consistent food quality.
• Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards.
• Strong time management and attention to detail.
• Ability to work efficiently during busy morning rushes.
• Reliable attendance, teamwork, and communication skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and safely handle routine kitchen supplies.

Duties

• Prepare ingredients and set up the breakfast station before service.
• Cook and plate breakfast orders according to restaurant standards.
• Maintain an organized workstation throughout the shift.
• Replenish ingredients and communicate supply needs.
• Clean equipment and food preparation surfaces regularly.
• Complete assigned opening, closing, and cleaning tasks.
