Breakfast Prep Cook

Job Summary

Jimmy's Egg is seeking a dependable Breakfast Prep Cook to support the kitchen team with daily ingredient preparation and morning service. This position will focus on preparing fresh ingredients, organizing kitchen stations, maintaining food-safety standards, and helping the team keep breakfast service efficient and consistent.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vegetables, meats, eggs, sauces, and other ingredients for breakfast service.
• Wash, peel, chop, slice, portion, and organize food products according to recipes.
• Complete daily prep lists and ensure ingredients are ready before service.
• Stock and organize cooking and preparation stations.
• Label, date, rotate, and properly store prepared ingredients.
• Assist line cooks with ingredient replenishment during busy service.
• Follow recipes, portion standards, and food-quality requirements.
• Maintain clean and sanitary preparation areas, tools, and equipment.
• Monitor food temperatures and follow safe food-handling procedures.
• Assist with receiving and putting away food deliveries when needed.
• Minimize food waste through proper preparation and storage.
• Support opening and closing kitchen duties.
• Work cooperatively with cooks, dish staff, and management.

Qualifications

• Previous prep cook, kitchen, breakfast, or food-service experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation and commercial kitchen practices.
• Good knife skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to follow recipes and preparation instructions accurately.
• Knowledge of food-safety and sanitation standards.
• Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented.
• Able to stand for extended periods and lift kitchen supplies as required.
• Comfortable working early morning shifts, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
