Job Summary

Academy Coffee is seeking a dependable, enthusiastic Coffee Maker to help prepare quality coffee and specialty beverages in a welcoming neighborhood café. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys coffee, takes pride in consistent drink preparation, and likes creating a positive experience for customers.

The successful candidate will help prepare espresso drinks, brewed coffee, tea, and other café beverages while maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient workspace. Previous coffee shop experience is helpful, but candidates with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Prepare espresso, drip coffee, iced coffee, tea, and other beverages according to recipes and café standards.
• Operate coffee machines, grinders, brewers, and related equipment safely.
• Measure ingredients accurately and maintain consistent beverage quality.
• Take customer orders, answer basic menu questions, and provide friendly service.
• Assist with order preparation and coordinate with coworkers during busy periods.
• Keep counters, preparation areas, utensils, and equipment clean and sanitized.
• Restock coffee beans, milk, cups, lids, syrups, and other supplies.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and proper storage procedures.
• Complete opening, closing, and routine cleaning duties as assigned.
• Report equipment problems and low inventory to the appropriate team member.

Qualifications

• Interest in coffee preparation and customer service.
• Previous barista, coffee maker, or food-service experience preferred but not always required.
• Ability to learn beverage recipes and operate café equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness.
• Friendly communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently during busy service periods.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Availability for scheduled morning, afternoon, or weekend shifts as needed.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform routine café duties.
