What they need

Your Impact

Join us as a Brewer at our Boundary Road Brewery in Papakura and play an important part in crafting some of New Zealand’s most loved beers. In this hands-on role, you’ll be involved in the full brewing process - from preparing ingredients and producing wort to overseeing fermentation, filtration, and quality checks. You’ll also have the opportunity to support our pilot brewery and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Please note: This position is an 6-month Fixed Term Contract and currently operates on 8-hour rotating shifts covering days (6am-2pm), afternoons (2pm-10pm), and nights (10pm-6am). Shift arrangements are subject to change in line with business and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor brewing and filtration equipment to meet production plans
  • Support fermentation processes, yeast pitching, and green beer centrifugation
  • Carry out quality checks, including chemical and gas analysis
  • Maintain high hygiene standards through CIP (Clean-In-Place) procedures
  • Assist with pilot brewery trial brews and recipe development
  • Record accurate data within our manufacturing systems
  • Share ideas and support continuous improvement activities
  • Champion a culture of safety and quality in everything you do

About You

We’re looking for someone who enjoys working collaboratively, has a strong attention to detail, and takes pride in producing quality outcomes.

You’ll bring:

  • An interest in brewing and learning how our products are made
  • Experience in a production, laboratory, food, or beverage environment (highly regarded, but not essential)
  • Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills
  • A safety-focused mindset and willingness to learn new processes
  • Clear communication and the ability to work well as part of a team
  • Confidence using computers and systems to record and monitor information
  • A qualification in science (e.g. chemistry, microbiology), brewing, or a related field (beneficial but not essential)
  • A forklift licence (beneficial but not essential)

If you’re curious about the brewing process and enjoy working in a collaborative environment, we’d love to hear from you.
