Brewery Manager

Overview

Black Isle Brewery is seeking a Brewery Manager with strong managerial, leadership and communication skills to lead our experienced production team, driving the highest possible standards across all brewhouse processes.

Black Isle is a dynamic, B-Corp certified brewery with a reputation for producing world-class organic beer. Based on an organic farm 10 minutes north of Inverness, we are now in our 28th year of organic brewing and poised to move to a brand-new brewery and distillery within the next 18 months.

For the successful candidate, this role represents a unique opportunity as the brewery prepares for a hugely exciting move. As such, applicants should have the ambition and energy to play a central part in this new chapter of the brewery's growth and progression.

Responsibilities

Reporting in weekly meetings to senior management

Lead, train and supervise production and warehousing team

Oversight of the full brewing process from recipe planning through to packaging

Purchasing of raw materials/ packaging materials/chemicals etc. Maintaining stock and contract negotiation with suppliers

Production planning/ scheduling future production

Overviewing packaging plant including canning line, key keg filler and kegging plant including monitoring DO levels and CO2 content of product

Maintenance and regular checks (including purchasing of spare parts, organising services with manufacturers, etc.)

Product development

HACCP Team leader, Level 5 in Scotland required

Maintaining current brewery quality system

Audit preparation to maintain Organic certification (SOPA standards)

Coordinating with Sales Director and Logistics Manager

Record keeping

Promote a positive, professional, and safety-focused team culture

Be hands-on with production demands and willing to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends.

Pay: From £40,000.00 per year
