About the role

Westcoast Retaining & Earthworks is seeking experienced Bricklayers to join our team on a full-time basis in Margaret River Region, WA. These will be key positions within our company, where you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality brickwork . You will be responsible for constructing new structures that meet industry standards and client specifications. This hands-on role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects whilst contributing to the reputation and success of our growing business.

Key responsibilities-

1. Lay bricks, concrete blocks and stones in mortar beds to build or repair structures
2. Read and interpret drawings and specifications to ensure accuracy and alignment with project requirements
3. Use hand and power tools effectively, including trowels, levels, mallets and brick saws, maintaining equipment in good working order
4. Check the accuracy of work using levels, plumb lines and measuring tools to ensure structures are built to specification
5. Clean and point joints between bricks or stones to create weatherproof and aesthetically pleasing finishes
6. Maintain a safe and tidy work site, adhering to all health and safety regulations and company policies
7. Collaborate with other trades professionals and site supervisors to ensure seamless project delivery
8. Assist with material handling and preparation of work areas to support project timelines

What we're looking for:-

1. Proven experience as a Bricklayer with a solid track record in residential, commercial or industrial construction projects
2. Current formal qualifications or apprenticeship completion in bricklaying
3. Strong knowledge of bricklaying techniques, mortar composition and various bonding patterns
4. Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications
5. Competency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
6. Understanding of building codes, standards and health and safety requirements relevant to Western Australia
7. A current driver's licence to travel between work sites
8. Physical fitness and capability to perform demanding manual work in varying weather conditions
9. Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality workmanship
10. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
11. Desirable: Experience with custom construction, decorative brickwork or heritage masonry restoration
12. Desirable: Current First Aid certification and White Card (Construction Induction Card)
