What they need

Who We Are StructureCraft is a world leader in timber and hybrid structural solutions — engineering and building extraordinary structures across North America and beyond. As we continue to expand our bridge portfolio — we are seeking an exceptional Bridge Engineer to join our team and help us deliver innovative, efficient, and beautiful pedestrian bridges in timber, steel and other materials.

About The Role As a Bridge Engineer at StructureCraft, you will work alongside our Chief Engineer and engineer-build teams on the engineering, detailing, and delivery of footbridges across North America. You will contribute to advancing bridge engineering methods, help develop bridge-specific best practices and workflows, and play an active role in making these bridges efficient, constructible, and elegant.

This role is ideal for a structural engineer who is technically rigorous, values buildability, is passionate about timber, hybrid and advanced structural systems, and wants to work on highly unique projects that push boundaries while staying grounded in first-principles engineering.

What You'll Do

  • Execute structural analysis, design, and detailing for pedestrian bridge projects
  • Support development of bridge engineering standards, and design tools
  • Assist BD and estimating efforts with early-stage engineering concepts and feasibility studies in different forms and materials.
  • Coordinate with project management, drafting, fabrication, and construction teams to ensure clarity and seamless delivery
  • Support R&D initiatives to advance bridge systems, connections, and performance
  • Mentor junior team members as skills and experience grow

About You

  • 3–7+ years experience in bridge structural engineering, having seen at least several new mid-span bridges through design and construction.
  • Have (or are progressing toward) PEng in Canada and/or PE licensure in US jurisdictions
  • Strong grasp of structural engineering first principles as well as modelling.
  • Significant knowledge and experience with CSA S6 and / or AASHTO or other leading bridge codes
  • Curious, collaborative, self-directed and excited to grow into a technical specialty area
  • Passionate about understanding materials, craft, optimization, and elegant structures

Why StructureCraft?

  • Work on some of the most innovative structures in the world
  • Join a deeply collaborative, curious, and technically rigorous engineering culture
  • Direct connection from engineering to actual fabrication + construction
  • Opportunity to learn from recognized leaders in timber / hybrid bridge design
  • Career progression pathway into senior specialty engineer and sealing responsibility roles

Location: Abbotsford, BC (StructureCraft HQ)

Benefits: We offer a benefits package that includes 3 weeks vacation, extended medical, life insurance, disability insurance, employee and family assistance program, and a matching RRSP program after 2 years employment.

The Pay Range For This Role Is 100,000 - 140,000 CAD per year(Abbotsford Head Office)
