Broadcast & Media Intern

Internship Summary: The Danville Baseball Club is home to one of Virginia's most exciting summer baseball brands: the Danville Otterbots (proud members of the Appalachian League powered by Major League Baseball and USA Baseball). Located in Danville, Virginia, the organization's mission is to provide unforgettable, community-driven entertainment while delivering the highest standard of fan experience. The Broadcast & Media Intern will broadcast live game streams, deliver real-time updates on social media, and cover the team through written content and press relations.

Internship Goals:

• Learn the day-to-day functions of sports broadcasting and media relations at a small-market sports organization.
• Gain hands-on experience broadcasting live game streams and posting real-time game updates on social media (specifically X/Twitter).
• Develop writing skills through pre-game and post-game articles and write-ups.
• Exposure to leadership responsibilities in:
  • Live Game Broadcasting
  • Real-Time Social Media Updates
  • Sports Writing & Content
  • Press Relations Management

Internship Requirements:

• Full-time summer internship from Mid-May to the beginning of August.
• Must be working towards a Bachelor's degree in broadcasting, journalism, communications, or a related field.
• Must be able to work all events and game days.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Experience with live game broadcasting and/or sports writing preferred
