Broker Assistant

Join a specialist WA-founded insurance brokerage as a Broker Assistant and become part of their Subiaco-based team. The business specialises predominantly in strata and is growing their broader general insurance presence. They have a close focus on helping clients understand their risks and access tailored insurance solutions.

Working closely with an Account Manager, this role will provide essential broking support across renewals, new business and endorsements, while also providing additional support to the wider broking team during peak periods and annual leave. It offers a great opportunity to build your insurance knowledge by starting and developing your career within broking.

What You’ll Do

• Provide day-to-day support to an Account Manager across their insurance portfolio
• Assist with the preparation and administration of approximately 30 renewals per month
• Support the processing of renewal documentation and follow-up requirements
• Assist with less complex new business quotes and endorsements through insurer portals
• Maintain accurate client and policy records across internal systems
• Liaise with insurers and other stakeholders as required
• Assist other brokers and team members during peak periods and annual leave
• Support the administration of strata insurance portfolios, with exposure to general and commercial insurance depending on experience
• Progress towards independently managing smaller renewals as your experience develops
• Ensure documentation and processes are completed accurately and within required timeframes
• Sit your Tier 1 in General Insurance Broking (if not yet obtained) as part of your career development plan to enable you to give tailored advice to clients and answer queries.

About You

We are looking for someone with general insurance industry experience who is keen to develop their career within broking. This role is suitable to an experienced assistant broker or someone who has worked at an Insurer for over a year and is looking to transition into broking.

You will have:

• 12-18 months experience within the general insurance industry (commercial or domestic policies)
• Strong administration and organisational skills with a confidence working with multiple tasks and deadlines
• Positive attitude, willingness and dedication to learning
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• A proactive and team-focused approach
