What they need

About Howden:

We are part of the Howden Broking Group, the world's largest privately owned insurance broker, headquartered in London. Since launching our Howden Pacific business in March 2021, the team across Australia and New Zealand has grown significantly.

Our mantra is to be People First. We believe you can teach someone new skills, but not how to be a different person. We offer a chance to join a rapidly growing business at an exciting time, with a genuinely collegiate culture and highly engaged team.

We now have an exciting opportunity to join our Commercial and Affinity Team as a Personal Lines Broker or in Howden Terms as an Associate.

In this role you will be responsible for the growth and retention of the personal lines business and support the management of an active portfolio of clients.

Key responsibilities

  • Actively managing your portfolio of clients, providing end to end service, including advice, product information, regular reviews and services, to ensure retention.
  • Manage our products end to end, including quotes and processing, invoicing, renewals, credit management, and other administrative duties in support.
  • Developing growth opportunities with new and existing clients ensuring their needs are met.

What we are looking for

  • Ideally, 2-3 years of personal lines insurance experience.
  • NZ Certificate (Level 5) in Financial Services
  • People first and team approach to work, clients, colleagues and providers
  • Ability to build relationships supporting clients as they make financial decisions.
  • A person who is organised - works systematically and can assess priorities to ensure key requirements and milestones are met
  • Excellent problem-solving ability, able to think outside the square and push boundaries to create the best outcome for all parties
  • Growth mind-set – open to change and continuous learning
  • Ability to work within policy and legislative and good conduct requirements

What we offer

  • Competitive salary
  • Positive, inclusive team environment where we welcome individuality and celebrate diversity.
  • Ongoing learning and development opportunities.
  • A team environment where teamwork, fun and care matter

EEO Statement

We wish to provide a supportive and welcoming workplace environment, which represents the communities and cultures within which we live and work. We have a huge diversity of talent from all walks of life, each with unique experiences and perspectives, all of whom can make a difference. Howden Pacific strives to build an inclusive workplace where our people feel welcome to bring their whole and true self to work, where differences are accepted and where our words and actions are inclusive.
