BRSU Special Programs Bus Assistant

Bennington-Rutland Supervisory Union is seeking a Bus Assistant for the 2026/2027 school year! The Bus Assistant assists the school bus driver in providing safe transportation of assigned students with special transportation needs to and from designated bus stops. The Bus Assistant effectively supervises and manages the behavior of assigned students, positively reinforces expectations, and helps the bus driver ensure the safety and well-being of passengers. The Bus Assistant greets all riders, assists students in getting on and off the bus, promotes safe behavior, assists with bus evacuations during emergencies and communicates with school administrators as needed.The bus ride starts and ends at Mettawee Community School in Pawlet, VT or at a location along the bus route, to be determined by the Student Services Coordinator or Director of Transportation. Each workday consists of a morning route and an afternoon route.
