What they need
Senior Brunch Chef / Kitchen Lead – New Opening
Campfire Coffee House – Netherlee, Glasgow
£14.00–£15.50 per hour, depending on experience
Approx. 35–40 hours per week | Daytime shifts
Campfire Coffee House is a brand-new independent café and brunch concept opening in Netherlee, Glasgow.
This is our first Campfire location, and we’re looking for an experienced and passionate brunch chef who wants to be involved from the beginning and help us build something special.
This is more than just a chef position. We’re looking for someone who can become a key part of the business — someone reliable, creative and confident who can work closely with the owner on menu development, kitchen systems, food presentation and the overall direction of the food offering.
Our menu will focus on modern brunch dishes, poached eggs, breakfast plates, signature stacks, ciabattas, pancakes/French toast, soups and quality café food.
You’ll be involved in the final stages of menu development before opening, testing recipes and helping make sure the menu works efficiently in a busy commercial kitchen.
The role will include:
- Running and organising brunch service
- Preparing and cooking dishes consistently to a high standard
- Working with poached eggs, hollandaise, breakfast dishes, pancakes/French toast and café-style food
- Helping develop and improve menu items
- Recipe testing and portion control
- Helping create prep lists and kitchen systems
- Maintaining food quality and presentation
- Managing stock, reducing waste and helping with ordering
- Supporting and training other kitchen staff as the team grows
- Maintaining excellent food hygiene and kitchen standards
- Working closely with the owner on the day-to-day food operation
We’re looking for someone with previous experience in a busy brunch café, breakfast kitchen or similar daytime restaurant environment.
You should be confident working under pressure, organised during busy services and genuinely interested in food rather than simply looking for another kitchen job.
Experience developing menus or helping open a new café would be a big advantage, but it isn’t essential.
Because this is a new opening, there is a real opportunity to make the role your own and grow with the business. We want someone who takes pride in what they put on the plate and who wants to help build Campfire from the beginning.
What we offer: daytime working hours, no late-night restaurant shifts, competitive pay based on experience, staff food/drinks, involvement in menu development, and the opportunity to become a senior part of a growing independent business.
If you’re an experienced brunch chef who wants more responsibility and the chance to help shape a new café rather than simply follow an existing menu, we’d love to hear from you.
Pay: £14.00-£15.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
Benefits:
- Discounted or free food
- Employee discount
Work Location: In person
