Budget Analyst

1. Evaluates funding requests from schools and departments for compliance with the approved annual budget, budgetary guidelines, and institutional priorities, and recommends appropriate action to the Budget Officer.

2. Reviews proposed programs, projects, and capital expenditures for financial requirements, budget implications, and alignment with the College’s financial plans and objectives.

3. Monitors expenditures and fund availability against approved allocations to ensure proper resource utilization and compliance with budgetary policies and procedures.

• Maintains records of approved allocations, expenditures, commitments, and available balances.
• Reports potential overruns, insufficient balances, and unauthorized or inconsistent expenditures to the Budget Officer.

4. Prepares financial analyses, budget reports, and expenditure summaries to support budget deliberations, financial planning, and management decisions.

5. Assists the Budget Officer in reviewing budget utilization, identifying significant variances, and addressing potential budgetary concerns.

• Coordinates with schools and departments to obtain explanations and supporting documents for significant variances.
• Recommends measures to address variances and improve budget utilization.

6. Performs other related duties as assigned by the Budget Officer, Comptroller, President, and/or Board of Directors.
