Budget Officer

Job Purpose:

The Budget Officer is responsible for preparing, monitoring, and controlling the organization’s budget to ensure efficient allocation of resources. This role involves analyzing financial data, forecasting, expenditures, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Develop and prepare annual budgets in coordination with department heads.

2. Monitor budget utilization and ensure adherence to approved allocations.

3. Analyze variances between actual and budgeted figures; provide recommendations for corrective actions.

4. Prepare periodic financial and budget reports for management review.

5. Assist in forecasting revenues and expenditures to support strategic planning.

6. Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and relevant regulations.

8. Coordinate with procurement and finance teams for expense tracking and approvals.

9. Perform duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Experience and Qualifications Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in budgeting, financial analysis, or similar role.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills.
• Proficiency in MS excel and financial management software.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Key Competences Required:

• Knowledge of ERP systems or budgeting tools.
• Experience in cost control and financial forecasting.
