Let's be honest, we're not looking for someone to just stand behind a counter.

HOTBOX DC is DC's go-to medical cannabis destination, and we need a Budtender who shows up like a sales professional, not a cashier. If you geek out over terpenes, know how to read a customer, and love closing a great recommendation, keep reading.

COMPENSATION

• Hourly pay + commission structure that rewards individual sales performance – the more you sell, the more you earn
• Monthly in-store sales competitions with real cash prizes and perks for top performers
• We don't believe in capping your earning potential; if you're producing, you'll see it in your paycheck

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Own the floor: greet every patient, assess their needs, and guide them to the right products with confidence and expertise
• Sell consultatively across our full menu: flower, edibles, concentrates, vapes, prerolls, and beyond
• Upsell naturally (not pushily) because you know the products well enough that recommendations sell themselves
• Stay sharp on DC's ABCA/Title 22-C medical cannabis regulations. Compliance is non-negotiable
• Keep displays fresh, shelves stocked, and the floor looking premium (just like our products)
• Handle POS transactions, cash, and debit with accuracy and speed
• Bring energy to our social media presence and share your enthusiasm for what we carry
• Compete with yourself and your team; we track performance and reward it

YOU'RE THE ONE IF YOU…

• Have 1–3 years in retail sales and can point to real results (upsell rate, customer retention, repeat business, etc.)
• Are a quick study, even if you don't know cannabis cold yet, you're hungry to learn and retain it fast
• Thrive in a competitive, high-energy environment and don't need to be micromanaged
• Show up on time, every time – reliability is everything here
• Are 21+ and eligible to register as a DC medical cannabis agent
• Speak more than one language? Even better.
