Role: Building Engineer III

Location: Pleasanton, CA

Duration: 4 Months + Possible Extension / Conversion to FTE

Pay: $33–$55/hr.

Schedule: Mon–Fri, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM

**Must be open to overtime/Saturday work with notice.

Position Overview:

Seeking a hands-on Building Engineer III to lead maintenance operations and ensure corporate facilities are safe, efficient, and fully operational. The role supervises maintenance technicians and contractors while handling preventive maintenance, repairs, inspections, and facility improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise 1–2 maintenance technicians and multiple trade contractors.
• Perform and oversee maintenance/repairs of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, fire/life safety, BAS, chillers, AHUs, and other building systems.
• Manage preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, inspections, and work orders through CMMS/Corrigo.
• Monitor contractors, obtain quotes, assist with SOWs, construction documents, inspections, and punch lists.
• Conduct facility and fire/life safety inspections and ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
• Maintain energy-efficiency programs and building systems.
• Track KPIs, operational data, reports, logs, and maintenance records.
• Support campus activities and emergency response as required.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED + relevant trade school training or equivalent 5 years of related experience.
• 5+ years of building engineering/facilities maintenance experience in commercial, corporate, healthcare, manufacturing, or large institutional facilities.
• Prior supervisory/lead experience required.
• Strong knowledge of commercial/industrial HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building systems.
• Experience with CMMS; Corrigo preferred.
• Ability to read electrical/mechanical/plumbing drawings, schematics, and construction documents.
• Knowledge of building and electrical codes.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Valid driver’s license required; DMV check will be part of the background check. Candidate will drive Albertsons vehicles.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders/stairs, stand, walk, and perform hands-on maintenance work.
