Role Description The Building Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Tampa, FL, responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of building systems. This role oversees mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable performance. The Building Engineer conducts routine inspections, troubleshoots issues, performs repairs, and implements preventive maintenance plans for common areas, tenant spaces, and critical systems. Responsibilities include coordinating with vendors and contractors, supporting facility upgrades, maintaining accurate maintenance records, and responding promptly to tenant service requests. The role also involves monitoring building performance, adhering to safety and regulatory standards, and collaborating with property management to enhance overall facility operations.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in Building Maintenance and Maintenance & Repair for commercial properties.
• Experience with Plumbing systems, including diagnostics, repairs, and routine upkeep.
• Knowledge of Facility Management (FM) practices, including coordination with property management and vendors.
• Ability to plan and execute Preventive Maintenance programs for mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems.
• Relevant technical training or certification in building engineering, mechanical systems, or a related field.
• Familiarity with building automation systems, basic electrical troubleshooting, and safety procedures.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with tenants, vendors, and team members.
• Capability to lift moderate weights, use standard maintenance tools, and work in building mechanical spaces as needed.
