About the role

Polystar General Services Inc. is seeking an experienced Building Engineer to join our team in a full-time capacity, based in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City, Metro Manila. This is a strategic role that sits at the heart of our building services operations, responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, safety and maintenance of building systems and infrastructure. As a Building Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of our facilities, supporting operational efficiency, and delivering exceptional service standards to our clients and occupants. This position requires on-site presence to oversee building operations, respond to maintenance issues and supervise technical teams.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the operation, maintenance and repair of all building mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with regulatory standards
• Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance schedules to identify potential issues and minimise downtime
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs, prioritising safety and operational continuity
• Manage building system troubleshooting and coordinate with contractors and vendors for specialist repairs or upgrades
• Monitor and optimise energy consumption and building utility systems to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, equipment performance and repair history
• Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations and environmental standards across all building systems
• Supervise and train building maintenance staff, providing guidance on proper procedures and safety protocols
• Liaise with tenants and facility users to address concerns and provide technical support
• Prepare reports on building systems performance and recommend improvements for capital planning

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 0-1 year of professional experience in building services engineering or facilities management within a commercial or multi-storey building environment
• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems in modern buildings
• Proficiency in building management systems (BMS) and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
• Sound understanding of building codes, safety regulations and environmental compliance requirements
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders
• Proven leadership capability with the ability to supervise and mentor maintenance staff
• Valid driver's licence and willingness to be on-call for emergency situations
• Professional certifications such as Building Commissioning Professional (BCP), HVAC Technician certification or equivalent are advantageous
