Building Engineer (Licensed) - Vertis North, QC

Role Overview

We are looking for a licensed and results-driven Building Engineer to oversee our facility operations, maintain equipment integrity, and ensure high operational standards.

In this role, you will lead preventive and corrective maintenance, monitor utility efficiency, manage ongoing construction works, and enforce comprehensive safety protocols to support seamless property operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Facility & Equipment Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections of all building equipment and facilities; implement proactive preventive maintenance schedules and execute timely corrective repairs.
• Cost & Energy Management: Implement energy-conservation initiatives, monitor utility consumption, and drive cost-saving measures without compromising operational efficiency.
• Project & Construction Monitoring: Oversee construction and fit-out activities to ensure strict compliance with property guidelines; review plans, estimates, and scopes of work for various facility projects.
• Technical Documentation & Reporting: Track and communicate the status of work requests, assist in scheduling, manage testing/validation processes, and maintain accurate as-built documentation.
• Safety & Compliance: Monitor and enforce property safety programs to mitigate risks, maintain compliance, and minimize operational liabilities.
• Stakeholder Communication: Prepare and deliver technical briefings and presentations to cross-functional teams, clients, and property stakeholders.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• Professional Registration: Must be a Registered Mechanical Engineer (RME) or Registered Electrical Engineer (REE).
• Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of hands-on experience in the Mall/Retail or Property Management industries.
• Core Competencies: Strong technical background, excellent project monitoring abilities, thorough understanding of facility safety guidelines, and clear communication skills.
