Building Engineer/Day Porter

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Building Engineer/Day Porter to join our team. The Day Porter will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of our facilities, ensuring a welcoming environment for both employees and visitors. This position requires a hands-on approach to facility maintenance, including light repairs and upkeep.

Duties

• Perform routine cleaning and maintenance tasks throughout the facility, including restrooms, break rooms, and common areas.
• Conduct inspections of the premises to identify any maintenance needs or safety hazards.
• Assist with minor repairs and maintenance tasks, utilizing mechanical knowledge and precision measuring instruments as necessary.
• Fabricate small components or fixtures as needed to support ongoing maintenance efforts.
• Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to requests from staff and management regarding facility needs.
• Utilize electrical tools and equipment safely, including voltmeters for basic electrical checks.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team for larger repair projects or high voltage issues when required.

Requirements

• Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in plumbing, electric, and facility maintenance.
• Familiarity with low voltage systems and ability to work with high voltage equipment is a plus.
• Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments for various tasks.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively while performing multiple tasks.
• Excellent communication skills to interact positively with team members and management.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and attention to detail in all tasks performed.
