Location: Childress, TX

We are seeking an experienced Building Inspector to lead and oversee building inspection operations in Childress, Texas. This position is responsible for coordinating and conducting inspections to ensure compliance with applicable building codes, regulations, approved plans, and safety standards.

Preferred Qualifications

• ICC certifications in one or more of the following disciplines:

--Building Inspector

--Mechanical Inspector

--Plumbing Inspector

--Electrical Inspector

• OR designation as an ICC Certified Building Official (CBO)
• Strong knowledge of International Codes (I-Codes), local ordinances, and industry best practices
• Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills
• Ability to interpret construction plans, specifications, and code requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate all inspection activities within the jurisdiction.
• Perform and oversee inspections for:
• Building and structural systems
• Mechanical systems
• Electrical systems
• Plumbing systems
• Underground utilities
• Fire sprinkler and fire protection systems
• Other related construction scopes
• Review construction projects for compliance with applicable codes, standards, and approved plans.
• Work collaboratively with contractors, developers, engineers, architects, and municipal staff to facilitate project completion.
• Maintain accurate inspection records, reports, and documentation.
• Provide technical guidance and code interpretation as needed.
• Assist with permitting, plan review, and code enforcement activities when required.
