JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION: Building Lead Security

CLASSIFICATION: Security

REPORTS TO: Lead Dean

Summary: The position of Building Lead Security is responsible for effectively supervising the day-to-day

operations of the Building Security team and its contribution towards creating a positive and safe school

culture and climate. General responsibilities include managing Security team members, overseeing floor

coverage assignments, responding to student issues, and collaborating with the Building Administration

for improving services.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

1. Creates floor assignments for Security team members.

2. Creates coverage assignments as needed during absences.

3. Communicates duties and responsibilities of Security team members and ensures effective

completion of those duties and responsibilities.

4. Creates a culture of teamwork among the Security team and effectively problem solves conflicts

as they arise.

5. Provides effective onboarding and training of new Security team members.

6. Provides constructive feedback to new Security team members during probationary periods.

7. Monitors the effectiveness of the Security team throughout the day.

8. Monitors student behaviors during unstructured school times (i.e. student arrival, passing

periods, etc.), and makes adjustments and recommendations as needed.

9. Oversees the safety and security of hallways and bathrooms throughout the school day and

makes adjustments as needed.

10. Oversees the processes and procedures for scanning students into lunch periods.

11. Oversees the Security team and their assignments in the student cafeteria during lunch periods.

12. Oversees Security staff working after school hours.

13. Collaborates with the Lead Dean in the evaluation process.

14. Supports, implements, and enforces building policy and procedures to create a safe school

environment.

15. Makes recommendations for professional development topics relevant to the Security team.

16. Serves as a point of contact between Administration and the Security team regarding Security

needs, student issues, and school crisis responses.

17. Collaborates with Lead Dean and the Building Administration to improve the effectiveness of the

Security team and makes recommendations as needed.

18. Regularly reviews building security and emergency procedures and makes recommendations for

improvements as needed.

19. Collaborates with other Divisions of Security and other departments in the school.

20. Supports and works with the Building Administration as emergency situations arise.

21. Other duties as assigned.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $16.50 per hour
