Building Leading Hand

About the Role

With a strong pipeline of residential construction projects across South East Queensland, AR Developments is seeking an experienced Building Leading Hand to help deliver quality homes and communities in Ripley, Springfield Lakes and Logan Reserve.

Working closely with Site Supervisors, you'll lead subcontractors on-site, coordinate daily activities, and ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who enjoys taking ownership, driving productivity, and maintaining quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Site Operations

• Coordinate daily construction activities to meet project timelines and quality standards
• Assist with site setup, scheduling, and contractor management
• Monitor workmanship and ensure compliance with plans and specifications
• Identify and resolve site issues proactively
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment
• Assist in ensuring materials and equipment are available when required

Leading Hand Duties

• Lead and motivate subcontractors and site crews
• Allocate and oversee daily tasks to achieve construction milestones
• Support Site Supervisors with project delivery and site coordination
• Monitor quality control and rectify defects where required
• Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across all sites
• Build positive working relationships with trades, suppliers, and stakeholders

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Experience as a Building Leading Hand or similar residential construction role
• Strong knowledge of residential building practices and site management
• Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• A proactive, hands-on approach to problem solving
• White Card and current Driver's Licence
• Relevant trade qualification highly regarded
