Building Maintenance Engineer

Position Overview

We are looking for a Building Maintenance Engineer who will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation and maintenance of our building facilities, utilities, equipment, and technical systems. The ideal candidate is a Registered Electrical Engineer (REE) with strong hands-on knowledge of MEFPS (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and Safety) systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day operation, preventive maintenance, and repair of building facilities and equipment.
• Monitor and maintain MEFPS systems, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, and related building systems.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify equipment defects, safety hazards, and maintenance requirements.
• Ensure proper operation and maintenance of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, generators, UPS, and other electrical equipment.
• Supervise and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and other facility-related issues.
• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, service providers, and technicians for repair and maintenance works.
• Prepare and maintain maintenance schedules, inspection reports, work orders, and equipment records.
• Ensure compliance with applicable building, electrical, fire safety, occupational safety, and environmental standards.
• Monitor utility consumption and recommend measures to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
• Assist in emergency response and ensure building systems are operational during critical situations.
• Manage and monitor building maintenance projects, renovations, and technical installations.
• Ensure that all maintenance activities are performed safely and according to company standards.
• Perform other engineering and facilities-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Licensed/Registered Electrical Engineer (REE).
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field.
• With solid experience in building maintenance, facilities management, or engineering operations.
• Strong working knowledge of MEFPS systems.
• Knowledgeable in electrical distribution, HVAC/mechanical systems, plumbing, fire protection, and building safety systems.
• Experienced in troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
• Able to supervise technicians, contractors, and maintenance personnel.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Willing to conduct site inspections and respond to maintenance concerns as needed.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic maintenance documentation/reporting.

Preferred Qualifications

• With experience handling commercial, office, warehouse, industrial, or multi-story building facilities.
• Familiarity with BMS, generators, fire alarm systems, pumps, elevators, HVAC, and other building equipment.
• Knowledge of relevant Philippine building, electrical, and fire safety regulations.
• With experience managing third-party contractors and maintenance service providers.
