Building Maintenance Engineer

Job Overview
We are seeking a dependable, hands-on Building Maintenance Engineer to keep our 83-room Marriott hotel safe, comfortable, and running efficiently. This role covers repairs and preventive maintenance across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building systems. The ideal candidate is proactive, works well independently, and takes pride in keeping guest rooms and public areas in top condition. Your work directly supports guest satisfaction and keeps every room ready to sell.

Duties

• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC units (PTACs), plumbing, electrical systems, and guest room fixtures
• Troubleshoot and repair guest room issues, including doors and locks, lighting, faucets, toilets, drywall, and furniture
• Maintain the pool and spa, fitness center, laundry equipment, ice machines, and exterior grounds
• Complete work orders and preventive maintenance logs in Quore, closing each ticket when the work is done
• Return out-of-order rooms to service quickly so they are ready for guests
• Use ladders and hand and power tools safely
• Follow all safety, fire, and life-safety procedures
• Communicate with the front desk and housekeeping about room status and repair needs

Skills

• 1+ year of maintenance experience in a hotel, apartment community, or commercial facility is preferred, but not required
• Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general repairs
• Ability to diagnose problems quickly and fix them right the first time
• Experience with a work order system (Quore or similar) is a plus
• Pool operator certification or EPA 608 certification is a plus
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and stay on your feet for your shift
• Strong customer service attitude when working around guests
• Clear communication skills and the ability to document work
• Reliable, on time, and able to pass a background check

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 35.0 per week
