Building Maintenance Technician Assistant

About the role

The Building Maintenance Technician Assistant supports the Building Maintenance Technician in maintaining the company's facilities, equipment, and building systems. The role assists with preventive maintenance, minor repairs, inspections, troubleshooting, and general upkeep to ensure a safe, clean, and functional workplace.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in routine inspection, preventive maintenance, and repair of building facilities and equipment.
• Support electrical, plumbing, mechanical, carpentry, painting, and other general maintenance activities.
• Assist in troubleshooting minor electrical, plumbing, and facility-related issues.
• Perform basic repairs and replacement of lights, switches, faucets, fixtures, locks, and other building components.
• Assist in monitoring air-conditioning units, electrical systems, water supply, and other building utilities.
• Help maintain tools, equipment, spare parts, and maintenance supplies in proper condition.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and report major defects or safety concerns to the Building Maintenance Technician or immediate supervisor.
• Assist contractors and service providers during repairs, installations, and scheduled maintenance when required.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of maintenance work areas.
• Follow occupational health and safety procedures and properly use personal protective equipment (PPE).

About you

• High School Graduate, Senior High School Graduate, Vocational Graduate, or Technical Course Graduate related to Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, or Building Maintenance.
• NC II in Electrical Installation and Maintenance (EIM) is an advantage.
• At least 6 months to 1 year of experience in building maintenance, facilities maintenance, construction, or a related field is preferred; fresh vocational graduates may also be considered.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and general repair work.
• Familiarity with basic hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
• Willing and physically able to perform manual work, climb ladders, lift materials, and work at heights when necessary.
• Knowledge of basic workplace safety practices.
• Dependable, hardworking, and willing to learn.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Able to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision after proper training.
