Building Maintenance Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and skilled Residential Building Maintenance Tech. In this vital role, you will perform a wide range of maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting tasks across building systems and interior spaces. Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical, plumbing, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), and mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Repair and maintain building interior elements such as walls, ceilings, flooring, doors and windows to uphold aesthetic standards.
• Troubleshoot electrical equipment using schematics, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools; perform electrical work including wiring repairs and component replacements.
• Maintain plumbing systems by diagnosing issues, repairing leaks, replacing fixtures, and ensuring proper operation of plumbing infrastructure.
• Operate hand tools and power tools safely for tasks such as carpentry, welding, maintenance painting, and equipment repairs.
• Lead or assist with facilities equipment maintenance including , HVAC systems, electrical panels, and other building automation controls.
• Support safety protocols by adhering to industry standards for electrical work, plumbing repairs, and mechanical tasks.

Skills

• Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in building interior maintenance and facilities maintenance practices.
• Proficiency in electrical work including repair of electrical equipment and understanding schematics;
• Hands-on experience with plumbing system maintenance and repair; familiarity with plumbing codes is a plus.
• Knowledge of HVAC system repair including troubleshooting thermostats, compressors, fans and filters.
• Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with team members regarding repair needs or project updates.
• Ability to operate hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, saws; use of electrical testing devices like ohmmeters or multimeters is required.
• Leadership qualities that enable effective supervision or mentorship within the maintenance team when needed.
